The Concept

An optician's window for the blockchain era.

EYWR is a collection of 200 eyewear portraits, each a single edition minted on Tezos. Cat-eyes, aviators, browlines, pince-nez, shield visors and heart-shaped sunglasses — 19 frame styles in acetate, tortoiseshell, buffalo horn, walnut, pearl inlay and gold wire, behind 11 lens tints from clear to iridescent mirror.

The framing sits closer than its siblings: head only, a slight three-quarter turn, both lenses in view. Some frames carry a print after a master; others stay honest metal. A sister series to HATS and UNDRWR, in the same studio light — mostly real faces, and now and then a matte-white mannequin.

The Masters

Read the bottom line.

Twenty-three painters, printed on the frame front and temples. Public domain only — no living artists, no estates. Seventy-one of the two hundred frames wear a print; wire, metal, rimless and half-rim frames stay plain.

Every twenty-fifth piece leaves the catalogue behind: one-off eyewear you won't find in any optician's window, from a lorgnette on a gold stick to a feather-plume cat-eye.

Some of them turn and smile.

About one in five portraits has an animated twin: an eight-second clip in which the face turns toward you and smiles — or winks. Every a-series clip mints as its own 1/1, so #107 and #107a are two separate pieces. All eight legendaries have one.
